BetaShares DMKT ETF (ASX:DMKT)

THE DMKT ETF CLOSED IN DECEMBER 2020. The AMP Capital DMKT Fund was an actively managed hedge fund, with the aim of returning 4.5% p.a. above inflation, on a rolling 5-year basis. What that means is DMKT used rebalancing in combination with active investment strategies to attempt to outperform the market over time.

What does the DMKT ASX ETF invest in?

The DMKT ETF could invest in a range of asset classes including shares, listed property, commodities, fixed income, credit and cash. The investment team got this exposure by using a range of passive ETFs (i.e. index fund ETFs) as well as ETF futures contracts, which are a type of derivative.

What do investors use the DMKT ETF for?

Investors could have used DMKT in a diversified portfolio when looking to achieve growth above inflation and outperform over the economic cycle. Due to its focus on total returns (capital growth and income), the DMKT ETF might have appealed to investors who believed it could provide a more consistent return as financial markets ebb-and-flow over time.
