Global X USD High Yield Bond (Currency Hedged) ETF (ASX:USHY)
The USHY ETF provides Australian investors with exposure to high yield bonds, primarily in the USA. These bonds will have a range of maturities and credit quality grades, ranging from ‘CCC’ to BB and B. As of 2022, the quality of the bond portfolio is skewed towards B (~32% weighting) and BB (~52% weighting).

What does the USHY ASX ETF invest in?
To provide its exposure, USHY simply invests into the US-listed ETF from DWS Group, the Xtrackers USD High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (NYSE: HYLB). HYLB launched in 2016 and has a diversified portfolio of ~1,100+ securities. It tracks the Solative USD High Yield Corporates Total Market Index ETF.
What do investors use the USHY ETF for?
Investors might consider using USHY to get tactical/satellite exposure to global fixed income securities with (over the economic cycle) slightly more yield than Government bonds in exchange for more risk and volatility.
